I'd like to know what "cartoon" style you're attempting to emulate, this looks more akin to a simple re-working of proportions and early cartoon eyes.

If you were attempting to emulate earlier animation you should understand a few things:

1. They usually had two feet.

2. They had round outlines.

3. The style was made due to budget and time constraints.

And above all else TF2 is cartoony enough.

As you said, it's a mix of many things, not trying to emulate anything specific here.

A mix of what? I never said it was a mix.

Sorry, my mistake.

What I wanted to say is that I'm not sticking to any guidelines, or trying to exactly emulate a certain.
I'm just drawing inspiration from multiple styles and sources such as:

-Elongated torsos and short legs, inspired from Zelda: the Wind Waker.
-Sharp vector lines like in Gainax's Panty & Stocking cartoon series.
-Old cartoon eyes.
Among other sources.

I just like to mix style traits, makes for an interesting drawing experience.

Well I wouldn't really call that "cartoon style", but thanks for the insight.

You're welcome! And I agree, it's not really "cartoon", but I labeled it as such to make it easier to find, and due to lack of a proper style term.
